Anyone who has spent time
with kids know they can be a uplifting source of joy. Children can trigger
strong emotions in people that make them smile, laugh, cry, or even just stare
in bewilderment. The unfiltered nature of a child’s mind leads them to do and
say lots of surprising things, and naturally many folks have some sweet, and
moving things to say in return about these kids.
You can learn many things
from children. How much patience you have, for instance. Children are a great
comfort to us in our old age, and they help us reach it faster too. What is a
home without children? Quiet. I love kids, but they are a tough audience. There
are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven
million.
I think that the best thing
we can do for our children is to allow them to do things for themselves, allow
them to be strong, allow them to experience life on their own terms, allow them
to take the subway... let them be better people, let them believe more in
themselves.
