Chief Marealle warns the use of UMT funds

The chairman of the Union of Chiefs of Tanzania (UMT) outgoing Chief Frank Marealle has warned about the use of money for the new chairman who will lead the union. 

Speaking at the ceremony of handing over the chairmanship of the UMT with whom he had been with for about 13 years, in Marangu, Moshi; Chief Marealle said the use of money has become a big challenge for many institutions in the country. 

"Funds should be used for the intended purpose of developing unity activities, don't spend money frivolously, the little money available should be used to develop unity," said Chief Marealle 

In addition, Chief Marealle said that the issue of spending money should be emphasized in order to avoid a conflict of interest that can be made if there is no election of the right leaders to lead the UMT.

 Chief Marealle said that for all the years he led the union, he has learned many things from the chiefs while insisting that he left the seat voluntarily in order to develop a habit of relinquishing power. 

“Some of their members wanted to disrupt the unity but he was able to stand firm and succeed in uniting them and becoming one,” added Chief Marealle. 

In his 13 years of leadership, he has been able to unite them, solidarity, also he motivated every chief to be able to manage morals, education, health, enviroment and manage traditions, customs.
